Earrelevant music had just one week to create a cover for the new CD from their band “Family Tree,” a family of rock musicians.

They had the concept of an image of a tree with the band members' faces blended into the leaves.

I photographed the band members and a lot of trees before settling on this one because of its large leaves and calming sunlight.

Rather than making all the faces the same size, I decided to make the childrens' faces small in the leaves and the parents' faces large in the branches and trunk.

The multi-scale design provides a dramatic effect while emphasizing the familial relationships.
