EarRelevant music had one week to create a CD cover for "Family Tree," the latest music from a family band of rock musicians. The band had the concept of a tree with their faces in the leaves. Jonathan Helfman photographed the band members. He photographed several trees and chose one with large leaves and calming sunlight. Helfman made the childrens' faces smaller in the leaves and the parents' larger in the branches and trunk, creating a dramatic, multi-scale design that reflects the familial relationships.
The back cover combines an original photograph of the family dog with the bark of a tree (pun intended).
